Greetings Ravensworth Family.
My name is George Brodie and I would like to introduce myself as the 2009-2010 Ravensworth Elementary School PTA President. My wife and I have 2 children, Gavin (3rd) and Honor (1st) and our experiences at Ravensworth Elementary include the pre-school, special education, and immersion programs. Over the last 3 years I have been involved with the PTA as the special education liason, the cub scout liason, and with the development of the school yearbook. I am looking forward to serving in the coming year as the PTA president.
Our new Ravensworth PTA Board has been busy working over this summer addressing many of the ideas & concerns we heard from the Ravensworth community at the end of last school year. We are currently planning many exciting activities, programs, and FUNdraisers for the 2009-2010 school year. The PTA would like to continue on with our past PTA goals of increasing membership, enhancing communication between the school and you, strengthening our parent/teacher relationship, and the facilitation of new ideas into the school.
All we need now is you! The success of the PTA depends on volunteers. Thank you to all of the volunteers over the last few years that have contributed in making the PTA successful. We want to broaden our volunteer base, as this will be necessary to allow us to execute all of the currently planned programs and activities while avoiding volunteer burnout. Need another good reason to volunteer? Research shows that kids whose parents volunteer do better in school. There are many ways to get involved at Ravensworth, including room parents, committee leadership, event team members, and liaison roles. Please consider volunteering, as your support and participation are the keys to your child’s success in school.
I am looking forward to seeing all of our Ravensworth families at our upcoming events. If you have any questions, concerns or just want to chat, please feel free to email me at president@ravensworthpta.org
