Guidelines for Article Submissions

A few guidelines that, if followed, would greatly help your technologically impaired editor in compiling the newsletter each month.

1.    Email your article as a Word attachment.  For some reason, when I’m cutting and pasting, it is easier to do this from a document rather than an email.  This is not to say I won’t accept a submission that is an email.  I will basically accept anything, even a handwritten note taped to my door. 
2.    Naming your article something identifiable to me, like “boxtops.doc” rather than “newsletter.doc” would be nice.  (Fifteen submissions named “newsletter” are hard to work with, but I can rename it if needed.)
3.    Please avoid any funky fonts or fancy formatting.  I have to scrunch it into a small area, and even bullets can get messed up sometimes.
4.    FYI, I use the Georgia font for the newsletter, and font size usually between 9 and 12, depending on how much space I need.
5.    The size of your article doesn’t matter, but most are a few paragraphs.  If an article is too long I may have to cut some of it out.
6.    If you have a photo you would like printed, go ahead and send it.  I fit them in when and where I can.
